Vibrating Roller

Vibrating rollers are compact compaction machines, efficient and used to level and compact soil, asphalt and granular material in construction and roadwork. Also known as walk-behind rollers or baby rollers, these are a great option in narrow spaces or for patchwork layers and foundation preparation work. Vibrating rollers typically operate with an 8–10 HP diesel engine with an electric start and battery backup and provide up to 20 kN of exciting force to ensure a compact and uniform depth. Single- or double-drum models provide an option for different site conditions, while hydraulic drive delivers a smooth forward/reverse operation. Their typical compaction capacity of 2-3 tonnes is well suited for sidewalks, driveways, trenches, small jobs, etc. Manufacturers such as Safari Equipments produce vibratory rollers with water spraying on the drum, adjustable vibration settings, and ergonomic handles to lessen operator fatigue. The drum is steel with a heavy-duty frame and shock mounts to allow for hard site conditions while reducing operator fatigue. For asphalt laying or soil stabilisation, vibrating rollers provide a compact size, smooth control, minimum maintenance, safety, and good working space. Their compact size with large output makes them almost essential for contractors and civil engineers. Check out the range of vibrating rollers at Aajjo.

The SBI 850 Vibrating Roller holds a 10 HP diesel engine bolted to a welded steel frame. A hydraulic pump sends oil to each axle and a 12 V starter motor turns the flywheel. The drum speed tops at 5 km/h in both forward and reverse. Two steel drums spin eccentric weights that shake at 3 000 cycles per minute - the force presses asphalt, granular soil or mixed base course into a level layer. Sealed bearings, a 6 mm drum shell plus a 30 litre water tank keep the unit working on rough sites. Road crews, landscape teams and municipal yards use the roller for base preparation, patch repair and curb-line work. A single lever controls travel direction, vibration on-off but also throttle - the seat sits above the drums so the operator sees the edge of the mat.
